The Stockholm School of Economics Russia was founded in 1997 and this year celebrates its 25th anniversary in Russia.
Starting with short Hans Rausing's Entrepreneurship Program, the school has been developing constantly: researching, publishing books and introducing courses of various kinds. By 2022, SSE Russia has developed the following portfolio: a two-year Executive MBA program (two groups annually), three innovative open programs and a limited number of customized programs for corporate clients. They are all united by a common goal - to maximise the internal potential of program participants and to develop the ability of top managers and entrepreneurs to solve complex problems effectively.
SSE Russia is proud of its long history of successful work in Russia, with more than 3,000 graduates of various programs, half of whom have graduated Executive MBA programs of the Stockholm School of Economics.
"The Stockholm School of Economics is a pioneer of European business education in Russia. Now it is hard to imagine any business sector without the presence of graduates of our programs, who actively contribute to the economic development and prosperity of the Russian society. Across all our development stages, we have followed two principles: no politics and practical approach. Our students and alumni, their goals and effectiveness, have always been and remain our constant focus at all stages of our development. Executives and top managers of both large companies and medium-sized businesses trust us, and we do our best to provide them with the best quality education and expertise," notes Anders Paalzow, the President of SSE Russia.
Stockholm School of Economics Russia is constantly updating its programs, following the development of both science and the economics. Thus, for example, Advanced Business Management program is dedicated to innovative business technologies and current management trends and Fine Leaders is for the leaders oriented towards "rebooting themselves" in the new reality. Elective modules have been added to the EMBA program allowing participants to learn more about digital transformation, negotiation practices, finance, etc. For the first time, participants will get the opportunity to attend exchange modules as part of GNAM's global network of 31 business schools.
"Over the pandemic years, we have significantly refined our programs to respond to the restrictions and meet the needs of the participants, who have become even more aware of the importance of time, convenience and freedom of choice. We quickly moved studies to places where face-to-face sessions were possible, adding local context and adapting materials. This process is not over. We will certainly continue to respond flexibly to external changes", commented Katerina Helström, Academic Director of SSE.
It is important for SSE Russia to stay present and in context, which is why our School actively cooperates with the Russian Association of Business Education (RABE) and the International Association for Management Development in Dynamic Societies (CEEMAN), is a member of the Association of European Businesses (AEB) and St. Petersburg International Business Association (SPIBA), participates in events of American Chamber of Commerce in Russia (AmCham), stays in contact with The Swedish Chamber of Commerce for Russia & CIS, Finnish-Russian Chamber of Commerce (FRCC) and The Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC) to get up-to-date information from Scandinavian companies in Russia in order to be able to invite relevant speakers and organize company visits.
