The Emerging Markets Case Studies collection (EMCS) welcomes submissions to the AUC School of Business case writing competition, open to authors from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, Pakistan and Turkey.

The Emerald/AUC School of Business Case Writing Competition aims to both develop high quality teaching case material focusing on business and management issues in dynamic and emerging economies, and to nurture case-writing capabilities in these same regions. All submissions to the competition will be considered for publication in the international, Scopus-indexed collection Emerging Markets Case Studies.

The total award fund is $2,250 with prizes awarded to the top three cases ($1,000, $750 and $500).

To enter the competition, submit your case study by the submission deadline via the Emerging Markets Case Studies collection on ScholarOne Manuscripts. Be sure to select ‘KCC 2022’ when prompted to choose a competition.

All submissions must meet the following requirements:

  • At least one author should be based at a higher education institution in the MENA region, Pakistan or Turkey.
  • Have a developing and emerging markets focus and based in these regions.
  • Be based on a real decision-making situation in a real company.
  • Be a teaching case (we cannot accept academic research cases).
  • Not have been published before in its current or substantially similar form or be under consideration for publication in any ISSN/ ISBN-registered publication or with any other case centre.
  • Meet the standard EMCS author guidelines
  • Include a completed and signed consent to publish release form.
  • Your case will be automatically entered into the peer-review process. Selected cases will be published in the Scopus-ranked EMCS collection (ISSN 2045 0621). By participating in the competition, you are agreeing to publish your case study in EMCS, subject to acceptance for publication after peer review and revisions (if required).

Final submission deadline: 30 November 2022
