Climate change has become one of the important topics on the international agenda. Governments in many countries are changing the regulatory environment for economic activity to minimize its impact on the climate. The UK became the first advanced economy to pass legislation to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to zero by 2050. The European Green Deal assumes the achievement of zero total environmental pollution by 2050. Governments' climate plans are already beginning to influence the global and regional economy, and every year this influence will be more and more serious.
The conference was opened by Jacqueline Perkins, the British Ambassador to Belarus, and Katerina Bornukova, Academic Director of BEROC.
Experts from Belarus, Great Britain, Russia and Ukraine spoke about how climate policy is changing the economy and the financial system.
