On November 7, 2024, the University of Economics and Human Sciences in Warsaw hosted a ceremony to award Professor Andrzej Jacek Blikle the honorary Doctor Honoris Causa degree. The event began with Rector Professor Konrad Janowski highlighting the honor's historical significance.
Professor Jerzy Hausner, the supervisor of the honorary doctorate, praised Blikle’s wide-ranging contributions as a scholar, entrepreneur, and public figure. The honorary doctorate review panel, which included Professors Elżbieta Mączyńska-Ziemacka, Andrzej Tarlecki, and Piotr Olaf Żylicz, emphasized not only Blikle’s professional achievements but also his exceptional personality, wisdom, humor, and communication skills. Professor Mączyńska-Ziemacka referenced the influence of Blikle’s family values, quoting his father’s emphasis on reputation and integrity.
A film featuring colleagues and friends, including Michał Komar and Jacek ‘Jac’ Jakubowski, celebrated Blikle’s impact, with Jakubowski describing him as a true Renaissance man. After the reading of the Senate’s resolution, Professor Blikle received his diplomas in Latin and Polish and delivered a lecture titled "Trust – Practical Aspects." The lecture focused on teal organizational management and concluded with a standing ovation.
The ceremony ended with a heartfelt concert by Stanisław Soyka, a close friend of Blikle.
