On May 14, Ms Jadwiga Ford ran an inspiring workshop for psychology and management students. During the workshop, students learnt some of the ins and outs of advertising psychology and analysed the techniques used in message creation to influence our conscious and unconscious wants and needs. Participants had the opportunity to discover what psychological theories underpin consumer behaviour, how advertising influences our choices and how we can improve our ability to analyse advertising from a psychological perspective. They took a journey into the depths of the human psyche and discovered the secrets and strategies used by advertisers around the world. The workshop was an opportunity to dive into the world of advertising, which is not only a creative form of communication, but also a powerful tool that shapes our preferences, perceptions of the world and influences our decisions.
On May 28, Mr Rob Jagtenberg, a senior lead electrical engineer at Royal HaskoningDHV, a global consulting and engineering firm based in the Netherlands, gave a presentation entitled ‘What’s behind your phone’s internet connection? The present and the future’. Mr Jagtenberg spoke about the world behind our internet connections, what developments can be expected in the future and how new technologies such as artificial intelligence will influence this.
On May 29, Ms Joanna Kozaczyńska, PhD, led an innovative workshop entitled ‘How do I see the world and others see me? My superpower! My filters and my natural way of acting, feeling, thinkin’, dedicated to students interested in their personal development and in building self-awareness. This event has successfully stimulated curiosity and interest in identifying students’ natural talents by observing what activities they enjoy and where they excel.
