The University of Economics and Human Sciences in Warsaw has joined the Baltic University Programme (BUP) network, which comprises 105 universities worldwide collaborating on education and research in sustainable development and democracy.

BUP supports the internationalisation of universities, primarily through scientific international cooperation and the mobility of students and staff from BUP member universities. BUP's activities focus on ten thematic areas (https://www.balticuniv.uu.se/about-us/themes/):

  1. Climate change;
  2. Renewable energy;
  3. Sustainable societies;
  4. Sustainable water resources;
  5. Urban-rural development;
  6. Sustainable mobility;
  7. Circular economy;
  8. Sustainable tourism;
  9. Education for Sustainable Development (ESD);
  10. Sustainable food systems.

Joining this initiative opens up new opportunities for cooperation and intercultural exchange for the university. It also provides access to a wide range of courses, educational and scientific programs, for both students and faculty. The coordinator of the BUP network at the UEHS is Dr Maciej Kluz, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics.
