Academy WSB-NLU: 35 Years of Tradition and a New Academic Chapter In 2026, Academy WSB-NLU in Nowy Sącz, Poland, celebrated its 35th anniversary while entering a new stage of institutional development. Founded in 1991, the institution has evolved from a business school into an academy combining practice-oriented higher education with an expanding research mission.
A significant milestone was the award of the B+ scientific category in Management and Quality Sciences following the evaluation of its research activity. Under Polish higher education legislation, this category gives the Academy the right to award doctoral degrees in the discipline.
Building on this achievement, the Academy introduced a doctoral seminar supporting candidates preparing dissertations through the external doctoral procedure. It is intended particularly for professionals seeking to connect management practice with rigorous academic research.
The name Academy WSB-NLU was officially announced on 17 October 2026, during the inauguration of the academic year and celebrations of the institution's 35th anniversary.
In 2026, the Academy also joined AACSB, EFMD Global and ACEEU, strengthening its engagement with international networks devoted to management education and institutional development. Eduniversal ranks WSB-NLU among Poland's leading business schools.
These developments mark a new chapter without abandoning the Academy's identity: practical education, cooperation with business and the application of academic knowledge to real organizational challenges remain central to its mission.
