Message from Dean
President Xi Jinping's words on Chinese higher education come to my mind: "There will not be a second Harvard, Oxford, Stanford, MIT, or Cambridge, but there will be the first Peking University, Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University, Fudan University, Nanjing University, and other renowned Chinese institutions. We must earnestly incorporate the world's advanced educational practices and follow the laws of education, deeply rooting our universities in Chinese soil." Indeed, each top university in the world has its unique development philosophy, path, and model. It is also fortunate that ZIBS, born in 2018, inherits ZJU's spirit of Seeking Truth, Pursuing Innovation and emerges during the golden age of ZJU's development. Relies on the innovative and entrepreneurial soil of Zhejiang, and the global highland of the Yangtze River Delta, ZIBS shoulders the mission of leapfrog development of Chinese business education in the new era. Our goal and mission are to solidly advance the high-quality, high-level, and high-speed construction of the "world's first ZIBS."
Smith Around the World
On April 16, in collaboration with the Adam Smith Business School, University of Glasgow, successfully
hosted the "Smith Around the World" Lecture Series to celebrate the 301st birthday of Adam Smith. The lecture, themed "Adam Smith's Philosophy—Inspiring Future Innovation in Entrepreneurship," gathered cross-border representatives to discuss the economic ideas of Adam Smith, promote cross-border cooperation, and stimulate innovation.
ZIBS Eco-System
On April 20, the Roundtable on Money&Finance (Spring 2024) was successfully held. The event was jointly organized by ZIBS and the International Monetary Institute (IMI) of Renmin University of China, and co-organized by the Zhejiang Association of Financial Technology (ZAFT), the Academy of Internet Finance Zhejiang University (AIF), and the Beijing Frontier Institute of Regulation an Supervision Technology (FIRST).
The Global Consulting Project
ZIBS and Cambridge Judge Business School successfully completed two in-depth university-enterprise
cooperation projects for the first time — the Global Consulting Projects (GCP) — through cross-border and cross-disciplinary collaborative innovation, the student teams provided efficient and high-quality global business consulting services to Ant Group and Industrial Bank.
Our Roundtable Meeting
On April 13, Assistant Professor and Assistant Dean, Deputy Director of the International Research Center for Hidden Champions at Zhejiang University's International Campus, LEI Linan, was invited to Hangzhou TV's "Our Roundtable Meeting" program, engaging in discussions with government, corporate, and university guests on topics around "hidden champions".
