Event of the month:
The third meeting of the International Advisory Board (IAB) of ZIBS was held on May 28. The meeting saw the participation of IAB Chairman Han Seung-soo, Chairman of the Council of Presidents of the United Nations General Assembly (UNCPGA); IAB members, including Gregory Guyett, CEO of Global Banking & Markets, HSBC; HUA Jingdong, Vice Chair of the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB); Sergio Rial, Lead Director in large listed US and Brazilian companies; and Anita Bhatia (online), former Assistant Secretary General and Deputy Executive Director, UN Women. They engaged in in-depth discussions on ZIBS operations and core issues, actively contributing ideas and suggestions and working collectively to chart the course for ZIBS development. ZIBS Dean BEN Shenglin, as well as other ZIBS leadership members and special guests, participated in the meeting. During this period, IAB members conducted several exchange activities with ZIBS faculty and students, as well as companies like Johnson Controls, Ant Group, JinkoSolar, and Wind Information.
Message from Dean
The concept of new productive forces encompasses several dimensions. Including technological innovation, the innovative combination and optimization of various production factors, and the transformation and upgrading of industries. For Zhejiang merchants, while advancing to the stage of new productive forces, more breakthrough innovations are needed. Strategic synergistic relationships with academia and other research institutions are of great importance. I believe the convergence of these two aspects is crucial. People with a background in technology should possess knowledge of management and finance, while management talents should also understand technology and its development trends.

Me & China Series
"Me&China" series brought 40 students and staff to visit Anji, the birthplace of the concept of "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets", gained deep understanding on how the concept promotes the practice of ecological civilization construction in Anji, contributing Chinese wisdom to green development, and strengthening the international spread of ecological civilization.
CAREC-PRC Digital Economy Workshop
The Joint CAREC-PRC Digital Economy Workshop on Empowering CAREC Digital Future & 2nd ASEAN-China Digital Economy Workshop was held in 2 stages from May 20 to June 1, at both Zijingang Campus and International Campus of ZJU. The workshop is sponsored by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology as well as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, hosted by Zhejiang University, and organized by the CiSDG and ZIBS.
Malaysia International Admission Campaign
In order to actively participate in the "Belt and Road " initiative and expand cross-cultural exchange with
countries and regions along the route, the ZIBS delegation conducted an international admission campaign in Malaysia, followed by a visit to the University of Malaya, Faculty of Business and Economics.
ZIBS Eco-system
On May 24, the first event of the ZAFT Financial Technology Ethics (Professional) Committee for 2024, jointly organized by ZIBS eco-partner ZAFT, was held in Shanghai. ZIBS Dean and Chairman of ZAFT, BEN Shenglin, along with ZIBS CTO ZHANG Ruidong, participated in the event.
