Collegium Humanum – Warsaw Management University is the private university in Poland. CEEMAN is always very proud to follow developments and achievements of its IMTA-International Management Teachers Academy alumni. Since 2000, IMTA has educated more than 650 teachers from 180+ institutions in 52 countries around the world. Many of them are now in management positions at their organizations, and/or achieved successes in their specific fields of interest. It is a pleasure to share some of the recent achievements and engagement stories here, including through the activities of CEEMAN.

Knowing the future, especially in the middle of a pandemic, the like of which has not been seen in modern times before, is an almost impossible task. Whether it was the scientist Niels Bohr, the baseball player Yogi Berra or someone else who said, “It’s tough to make predictions, especially about the future”, they were certainly on to something.

On 16-19 November 2020, Derek Abell led the management teams of School of Business of Belarussian State University (Belarus) and WSB University (Poland) through a three-day online workshop with the objective of understanding what schools that aspire to “Leading the Way in Management Development” in their own particular markets should be thinking about and acting on.

Autumn was a busy period for the Alliance of Management Development Associations in Rising Economies. A number of steps were undertaken contributing to stronger visibility of the Alliance initiative globally, preparing Bylaws, and deciding on the course of action for the next year.

Responding to the most pressing needs of our community, CEEMAN fully dedicated and successfully concluded this year's EdTech Seminar on improving online teaching. Bringing together 22 committed and enthusiastic individuals from seven countries (Czech Republic, Estonia, Georgia, Poland, Russia, Slovenia and Sweden) in an online arena, the seminar aimed to set an example for engagement with a focus on interactivity and co-creation.

Stockholm School of Economics in Russia (SSE Russia) has worked with executive education in Russia for over 20 years. More than 2,000 graduates attended Executive MBA, open or customized programs.

The WUT Business School is among the best Polish schools offering the highest quality managerial education. The School was founded in 1991 and from the very beginning we built our quality standards by applying the best practices from our noble international founders: London Business School, HEC School of Management Paris, and Norwegian School of Economics.

Facing unprecedented disruption over the past few months, for the first time in CEEMAN history the 28th CEEMAN Annual conference took place online. On 23-25 September 2020, the big CEEMAN family gathered once again - this time in virtual space - in order to search for Ideas and Inspiration for Management Development from Fields Beyond Management, the topic of this year's event.

The 26th CEEMAN Case Writing Competition was organized for the fourteenth time in cooperation with Emerald Group Publishing. A total number of 63 cases from 15 countries (Colombia, Egypt, France, India, Mexico, Pakistan, Philippines, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Spain, UAE, UK, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan) were submitted for the competition.

Launched in 2010, the annual CEEMAN Champions Awards recognize and promote outstanding achievements of faculty, management, and staff from CEEMAN member institutions in the categories of teaching, research, institutional management, and responsible management education.

It has come to our attention that with the current international travel restrictions due to COVID-19 and most training events going online, Erasmus+ Grant Support for the Mobility of Staff could cover “organizational support” of participation of teaching or administrative staff in online events that are at least 2 days long, in the amount of EUR 350 per person.

In the light of the current pandemic situation and keeping in mind safety and wellbeing of all of us, we decided to move all events of the 28th CEEMAN Annual Conference to an online format.

CEEMAN International Quality Accreditation is awarded to institutions that are committed to continuous improvement and are providing the delivery of high quality educational programs. We are happy to announce that BA School of Business and Finance has been awarded the IQA Accreditation for a period of six years.

Less than a year after its creation, the Alliance of Management Development Associations in Rising Economies held its first Think Tank meeting on Tuesday, 30 June. This historic meeting aimed to formally introduce each partner association, foster stronger bonds and commitment, and cement the structure of the Alliance by building on its key objectives. The outcome was a true reflection of the future impact of the new dialogue and partnerships between business schools around the world through the Alliance.

CEEMAN Case Writing Competition, organized for the 26th consecutive time in partnership with Emerald Publishing, has closed for submissions. We are delighted to announce that the competition has proven yet again an interesting outlet for authors focusing on developing and emerging markets.
