Won’t be long now until book stores, publishing houses, libraries, schools and avid readers celebrate the UNESCO World Book Day on April 23, 2016 with a great reading festival. In this context, professors from HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management recommend books focusing on leadership and innovation management.

Forty-one program managers from 17 countries and 33 business schools and universities around the world came to Bled to attend CEEMAN’s Program Management Seminar from 13-15 April, hosted by the IEDC-Bled School of Management.

The PRME Chapter Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) held its 1st PRME Regional Meeting CEE on 18 - 19 April 2016 at RISEBA University in Latvia. During this meeting, 56 delegates from 19 PRME signatory business and management schools across Central and Eastern Europe came together to agree on a Constitution and Steering Committee, and to discuss ideas on the roles, activities, and events for the new PRME Chapter.

The purpose of this Memorandum of Affiliation (MOA) is to establish and promote a partnership with quality assurance/accreditation bodies world-wide, with a view to encouraging the use of the CHEA International Quality Group (CIQG) Principles as a foundation of shared understanding about quality at an international level.

It is with deep sorrow that the Accreditation Council of Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) announces the passing of Andy C. Saucedo, Professor of Business & Marketing at NMSU Doña Ana Community College in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Saucedo had been serving as Chair of the ACBSP Board of Directors.

AACSB held its International Conference and Annual Meeting in Boston, USA from April 3-5. On the occasion of the conference, CEEMAN expressed its heartiest congratulations on the important milestone of AASCB, the 100th anniversary.

Like so many of her classmates from abroad, Julia Mayer bought herself new clothes during her time as an exchange student in Istanbul. But what to do now with the clothes she doesn't need anymore? The student from Augsburg was convinced that "it would be a shame to throw them away." When looking for opportunities to pass the clothes on to those in need, she could not find a single initiative at her exchange school, Sabancı University, where she was studying for three months at the end of last year.

Following social and economic changes that have created new managerial and leadership challenges and development needs, CEEMAN Board on 18 March 2016, accepted a CEEMAN IQA Accreditation Framework which provides a new twist on accreditation of management education in recently emerged and emerging economies around the world.

On 15 and 16 February, research partners of the international research project “Management and Leadership Development Needs in Dynamically Changing Societies”, coordinated by CEEMAN, met for the first time at IEDC-Bled School of Management in Bled, Slovenia.

Financial Times has published an article “Eastern Europe’s Business Schools Rise to Meet Western Counterparts” which deals with the broader topic of Eastern European Business Schools and how they have developed in the last decades, taking into consideration several aspects of the business school’s pillars, such as faculty development, quality of teaching, international accreditations, and others.
