Professor Marzenna Weresa, head of the World Economy Research Institute at the Warsaw School of Economics was appointed a member of a group of independent experts at the Directorate-General for Research & Innovation of the European Commission.

On Wednesday, October 24th, 2012, Princess Laurentien of the Netherlands visited the Warsaw School of Economics (SGH) to meet the students and talk to them about climate protection issues. She gave a lecture on climate as a new priority for CSR strategies giving also examples how Dutch companies have implemented these strategies.

From 12-14 October 2012 the Semi-Annual meeting of IAUP (the International Association of University Presidents) was hosted by Caucasus University, Tbilisi, Georgia.

A team of faculty members and students of Carinthia University of Applied Sciences (CUAS) School of Management led by CEEMAN IMTA alumnus Dietmar Sternad is the winner of this year´s annual International Online Teaching Resource Library Video Competition of the Academy of Management, the world´s largest and most important professional association of management school.

EU Business School Launches Design Management Seminar with Professor Pierre Keller.

On October 8, 2012 classes began at EU Business School with a record high enrollment rate.

On Thursday, October 11, 2012, the Warsaw School of Economics (SGH) had a pleasure to host Thomas C. Schelling, a laureate of the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences. Professor Schelling was awarded the prize in 2005 (shared with Robert Aumann) for "having enhanced our understanding of conflict and cooperation through game-theory analysis".

On 4th October was the opening ceremony of the new academic year of EBS Helsinki in the main hall of EBS in Tallinn. The students were welcomed by the Minister of the Embassy of the Republic of Finland, Ms Heli Kanerva. This autumn there are 63 new students who start their studies at EBS Helsinki which amounts to 130 students in total.

On September 27th EBS Rector Professor Arno Almann gave an Oath of Office on an official inauguration ceremony in Estonian Business School. The Rector was collared with the Chain of Office by Rector Emeritus Peeter Kross. Arno Almann became the 5th leader of EBS. In 2013 Estonian Business School celebrates its 25th anniversary.
