Three-day Program Management Seminar organised by CEEMAN at the IEDC – Bled School of Management successfully concluded last Friday in Bled. Starting on 18th of April, 30 participants from all over the world had a unique opportunity to meet new people and colleagues from other countries and learn from some of the most prominent professors of business education.

On International Women's Day, Prof. Dr. Danica Purg participated in the panel "Inequality in a world of equality" at the Faculty of Social Sciences in Ljubljana which aimed to highlight the most important issues in this domain and identify solutions.

We were saddened to receive the news that Prof. Ruth Alas, Head of Management Department at the Estonian Business School, has passed away on January 23 at the age of 57. For the last year and a half, she was fighting cancer while still keeping as active as possible with her teaching and research work.

The respected Professor and public intellectual has passed away.

Dear friends, I am writing these words just before the holiday season, proud of what CEEMAN achieved in 2017.

"Society and the business sector have faced different challenges, characterized by volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity. To tackle these challenges management education institutions have to develop managers and leaders who will be able to lead necessary changes in the business sector and in society, and make a difference that is desperately needed. We are delighted to start EdTech - CEEMAN’s new program dedicated to digital technologies in management education. From today until Thursday December 7 CEEMAN will run an intensive and highly interactive program, during which distinguished professors and renowned experts will present trends of digital technologies in management education and the big picture of a digitalized world.

In 2018 CEEMAN is celebrating 25 years of our association. On this occasion, we are starting a series of articles, interviews, and other contributions dedicated to our association. We think that a quarter of a century of existence is a good opportunity to assess our achievements, identify areas where we could do better, and discuss guidelines for the future, which we outlined to be better able to meet the challenges of the fast-changing world that business and management schools are facing.

The 4th Lead4Skills research project meeting took place at RISEBA University in Riga on 18 and 20 of October and gathered participants from Lithuania, Hungary, Estonia, Poland, Slovenia and Latvia.

Prof. Danica Purg, CEEMAN president, was recognized by RISEBA University and awarded with a Professor Honoris Causa for advancement of business and management education in Central and Eastern Europe and other dynamic societies, instilling high educational standards by believing that only the best is good enough; for passionate promotion of responsible leadership, creative approach to education and, through her innovative concept of Art in Leadership that bases the strategic development on synergies between business and art.

We are pleased to announce that International Quality Accreditation was awarded to the School of Management at Zhejiang University (hereinafter: ZJU-SOM). This is the first management education institution in China that has acquired CEEMAN International Quality Accreditation. ZJU-SOM was also the first management education institution in China that gained AMBA accreditation (in 2006). At present, ZJU-SOM is accredited also by other two major international accreditation institutions (AACSB and EQUIS), and by domestic accreditation institution (CAMEA).

CEEMAN is very proud to announce that International Management Institute (hereinafter: MIM-Kyiv) has acquired International Quality Re-Accreditation status for additional six years. Apart from the national accreditation, MIM-Kyiv has been maintaining external accreditation practices since 2004 when the initial CEEMAN International Quality Accreditation (IQA) accreditation was awarded. MIM-Kyiv was re-accredited by CEEMAN in 2011, and in 2015 the MBA portfolio obtained AMBA initial accreditation.

On the occasion of the 4th Academy of International Business AIB-CEE Chapter Conference, hosted by the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Economics, CEEMAN awarded two IMTA scholarships for best paper and for highly commended paper.
