The 21st CEEMAN Annual Conference titled “Business Schools as Responsible Change Agents: From Transition to Transformation” was held in Bled, Slovenia, on 26-27 September, 2013 and gathered more than 190 participants from 46 countries.

CEEMAN in cooperation with IEDC-Bled School of Management published a new book titled "Hidden Champions in CEE and Turkey – Carving Out a Global Niche". The book was edited by Peter McKiernan of the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, and Prof. Danica Purg of CEEMAN and IEDC. It was published by Springer.

On the occasion of its 21st Annual Conference, held in Bled, Slovenia in 2013, CEEMAN was proud to present a book CEEMAN: 20 Years of Creating History, capturing important events and paying tribute to people and institutions that have made this organization what it is today.

Palgrave Macmillan has published The Passion and Discipline of Strategy, a new book by Prof. Krzysztof Obloj, Professor of Strategic Management of the School of Management at Warsaw University and Kozminski University of Poland. Prof Krzystztof Obloj, who has been IMTA faculty for Strategic Management Track since 2002, serves also as an advisor to the President of Poland.

The autumn 2013 issue of CEEMAN News offers an interview with Danica Purg, President of CEEMAN and IEDC-Bled School of Management, where she talks about challenges of management education, CEEMAN development in past 20 years and the impact of CEEMAN, other associations and PRME initiative on responsible management education and sustainable development.

In preparation for the its 2013 Annual Conference, “Education, Employment and Entrepreneurship”, which was held in Tunisia in June, the Global Business School Network produced a research paper to provide context for a conversation about the global employment situation. The paper, titled “Education, Employment and Entrepreneurship: A Snapshot of the Global Jobs Challenge,” provides an overview of current research on jobs in developing countries, with special attention given to youth and women. The paper explores the relationship between education and employment, and the role that entrepreneurship plays in increasing jobs and decreasing unemployment overall. It highlights the importance of using technology to improve access to quality education and calls for cooperation between business schools, government representatives, NGOs, entrepreneurs and business professionals from around the globe.

The summer 2013 issue of CEEMAN News offers an interview with Nick Binedell, the dean of Gordon Institute of Business Science, University of Pretoria. We spoke with Nick on the new ways for developing leaders for the future we want, including on the related inspiration, innovation, implementation and impact, which all are at the core of the general theme of the 2013 PRME Summit. Besides this he expressed his thoughts on the role of business schools as responsible change agents in dynamic societies.

The spring 2013 issue of CEEMAN News offers an interview with Georg Kell, Executive Director, United Nations Global Compact, where he talks about PRME, management education institutions and their role in developing a new generation of business leaders.

The goal of this Collection is to provide short summaries of “what works” when it comes to integrating the issue of poverty into management education.

Lomonosov MSU BS has recently presented the new issue of its regular academic journal, Bulletin of the Moscow State University, Series.24. Management. The issue features articles of the School’s faculty and alumni as well as national and international experts, covering the issues of mutual investments on the art market, knowledge management, market entry strategies of the international companies in Russia, strategic alliances, firm competitiveness, corporate social responsibility and gender issues in the Japanese companies.

CEEMAN’s 20th Annual Conference “Business and Educational Challenges in Dynamically Changing Environments” was held on 26-28 September 2012 in Bellville, Cape Town, South Africa, hosted and co-organized by University of Stellenbosch Business School, and gathered over 100 participants from 32 countries.

The winter 2012 issue of CEEMAN News offers an interview with CEEMAN Champions 2012 on questions that are relevant in the areas of the excellence in business education and leadership development in general.
